The Winnipeg Views series from the early 1980’s was an exploration into the urban landscape and, photographed on 4×5 film, an indication I was employed and could afford film again. While the photographs are randomly chosen a percentage of them are of areas affected by the Core Areas Initiatives project. The City of Winnipeg had started the Core Area Initiatives project aimed at revitalizing the core of the city including St. Boniface and the area referred to as Chinatown.
