Full disclosure; this is my family reunion. And the exhibit is a bit extravagant in that regard. It has 158 images.
So … Wait for a rainy day. Make yourself a cup of tea. Have a little nap part way through.
My mother Elsie was 7th of 12 surviving children born to John Murray Hogg and Elizabeth (Gibson) Hogg; James, Mary, Bill, Jennie, Jack, Murray, Elsie, Ethel, Annie, Betty, Archie and Edie. James Hogg and his wife Deborah had 5 surviving children; Dave, Jimmy, John, George and Alice Hogg.
On July 22/23 1988 their descendants gathered at the Big Woody Hall for a reunion.
We were joined by several guests from England; John, Marjorie, Colin and Susan Graham, Fred and Elsie Lloyd, Derek and Jason Johnston and Pat Stalker.
A huge shout out to my cousins, Edna and Leone, the sisters Hanson for all their organization and planning and to all who pitched in. The birthday calendar, the Hogg family cookbook (in use to this day), ceramics by Lois, pancake breakfast; for all the planning, work and time invested … Bravo!
Through recollection and with the assistance of the family, names have been applied to the people in the photographs; if there are any errors or omissions please respond in the comments section or by the email address at the bottom of the page. What a wonderful surprise to have this in our mailbox! Thank you so much, and to Leone and Edna for the hours of work they must have put into the organization of the event.
In spite of a very sad start to the weekend, (Gerald’s father’s funeral was the day before), we have many happy memories of the event.
We had a wonderful time, and I know my Dad, Jo, and Tracy did as well.
Some of those attending have gone to their reward now, but we all had a wonderful time.
Thank you Rob, for your taking so many lovely photos, and for this lovely reminder of a beautiful weekend.
