The first Canadian Girl Guides Company to be officially registered was in St. Catherines On; the registration is dated November 1, 1910. Other Guide Companies were registered later in 1910 in Toronto, Moose Jaw and Winnipeg.
In 1985, the Girl Guides of Canada celebrated their 75th anniversary. I photographed the celebration and gathering at the Manitoba Legislature grounds, at the suggestion of Sharon Reilly, curator and colleague at the Manitoba Museum.

I hope some of those little girls in the pictures (who would now be middle-aged women) will see these photos and recognize themselves.
